Domingos Pires

The Major of Infantry in the Retirement, DOMINGOS JOÃO MOREIRA PIRES was born in Mirandela, Trás-os-Montes.

He enjoys challenges, traveling and nature sports, such as climbing, hiking, mountaineering and canoeing. While in the military he participated and coached Military Pentathlon, Cross Country, table tennis and basketball.

Military career of more than 20 years with experience in various operations within the scope of the European Rapid Operational Force (EUROFOR) (Portugal and Italy), Bilateral Cooperation (Spain), NATO (Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo), United Nations (Ivory Coast and East Timor).

Within the scope of academic training, the following stand out: a Degree in Military Sciences in the specialty of Infantry (Military Academy), a Degree in Management and Public Administration (Higher School of Communication, Administration and Tourism), a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Management (University of Tras- os-Montes and Alto Douro); Diploma of Advanced Studies in Tourism (University of Aveiro), Higher Occupational Safety and Hygiene Technician, HUMINT (Human Intelligence) Operations Course, Assertive Communication Techniques Course,   Training Course in Neurolinguistic Programming – NLP, with International certification, Rope Maneuver Technician, Pedestrian Course Technician, Grade II Pedestrianism Trainer and Cyclin´Portugal Center Technician (Portuguese Cycling Federation).

In March 2014, together with Major Neves, he founded PORTUGALNTN, a company dedicated to Nature Tourism, which operates in three distinct segments:

Adventure, where workshops and Team Building activities are essentially developed in an outdoor environment;

Walking, which comprises walks combined with experiences related to endogenous products; It is

Consulting, dedicated to studies and projects linked to the installation of Homologated Pedestrian Routes, accessible Homologated Pedestrian Routes, Cyclin’Portugal Centers, Trail Running Centers, production of Thematic Cartography, development of Mobile Applications linked to tourism and Design solutions to Support Tourist Products.

He is currently a trainer at the National Mountaineering School, a specialist in the areas of mountaineering, hiking, rope maneuvering, survival, guidance, safety and leadership and responsible for the company’s Adventure and Consulting segment.
